How this started, in my own attic
I taught myself insulation the slow way, reading maker guides and building science and making plenty of mistakes in my own attic, then learned the rest working jobs around Wichita Falls. We opened D&L Wichita Falls Insulation Company in 2023, and most of our calls come from three kinds of folks: people with a room that won't stay comfortable, people who just bought an older house and have no idea what's up there, and a few business owners with metal buildings.
Here's what I care about most. Things get done in the right order, because new insulation laid over a roof leak, a bad wire or open gaps just hides the trouble. And when we pack up, I want you to understand your own house a little better than you did, so you can make good calls on it later.

What you can expect from us
You talk to me, up in the attic
I come out to every estimate and crawl your attic or crawl space myself, so the person telling you what's up there is the one who actually saw it. You get a plain write-up of what I found and what I'd fix first.
Leaks and gaps get handled first
Before any insulation goes in, we look for roof leaks, wet spots, mold and old wiring, because fresh material over those only covers them up. Then we do the air sealing, closing the gaps around can lights, pipes and the attic hatch, so your new insulation isn't fighting a draft.
Your choices explained, your floors covered
Foam costs more and seals air while it insulates, but sealing the gaps and topping up with blown-in, loose fill blown through a hose, usually wins unless your ductwork lives up there, and I'll tell you which way I'd lean for your house. While we work, we cover your floors and keep the dust in the work area, so your home looks the way you left it.

City contractor licensing and permits
In Wichita Falls, construction work has to follow the city's codes and carry the right permits and licenses, and the city's Building Inspections division is the office that licenses contractors, issues permits and inspects the work. We check with that office before we start, and when your job calls for a permit, we handle the paperwork and the inspections for you.
